State of Emergency

The rainy season in Malawi always brings the jeopardy of flooding, and, this year’s rains are no exception. Houses, roads, and bridges have been washed away, and crops have been destroyed, to the point where the Malawian Government has declared a state of emergency.

Whilst most of their buildings have been spared, cooking utensils, food, toys, and blankets, in JCT centres in Mangochi and Nsanje, have not. The foundation has put out an urgent appeal for funding to help replace what’s been lost, and to help with the construction of new shelters to protect the displaced. An ongoing need is one of transport, particularly now, when aid needs distributing quickly to the remotest areas affected. Will you help?
