Water-borne diseases, like Cholera and diarrhoea – the second leading cause of death among children under five, worldwide – are rife in countries like Malawi, where water is often drawn from unprotected, shallow wells. Children, whose immune systems are already compromised by HIV/Aids, are especially vulnerable.
With the country in the grip of a Cholera epidemic, JCT is enhancing its food and nutrition programme by committing to provide clean water and better sanitation to enhance the life chances of the communities it supports.
The boreholes will be constructed by the communities themselves, but we need your help to provide pumping equipment and tools.
