Whether orphaned or because their families can no longer care for them, increasing numbers of children are being brought to JCT CBCCs to be looked after. This is causing overcrowding in all the districts in which the foundation operates, but particularly in Lilongwe.
As well as additional accommodation, there is an urgent need to build additional classrooms. Widespread hunger across Malawi, means increasing numbers of children are attending school just to get fed. It is the provision of these basics of food and shelter that underpin the foundation’s progressive education programme – a programme that offers the hope of a more self-sustaining future.
Will you help them build a new vocational centre, with additional classrooms, in Lilongwe, to accommodate a further 50 children?
